Based on a bizarre true story, set in the year 2020, two LA roommates, one a basketball-obsessed, computer wizard and the other an ambitious, stardom-seeking social butterfly, chase their championship dreams by catfishing their way through the toxic sea of social media to the peak of online success. Vivian Flores explores themes of deception, distraction, the price of popularity and asks, ‘What is truth beneath the screen’? This event is a staged reading of a theatrical production by Corey Taft for his Cal State LA MFA Culminating Project. Feedback is appreciated. Some language may be unsuitable for children.
